PhpBB (which is what makes it all work) needs updating etc. Should I make the effort - or not?

Whoops! Voting now works (sorry about that, the man responsible has been SACKED!)

Is it really worth the effort?

 Your view would help me to decide whether to make the effort.

N.B. You need to be registered to vote in this poll (it's free)

9th May 2004 - I've done the update(easier than I thought) - but would still be interested to know your views.

Tony - Don't give up !!!
It's more than worth the effort - sorry to keep harping on subject but can't we organise a re-union ? - there appears to be enough interest.
Best Wishes JC Wood

Hi John,

Some more feedback & participation would be nice. I'm sure there are plenty of folk who visit the site (perhaps I ought to add a stats collection thingy (technical term  ), although that means more effort on my part (so perhaps not).

Some more audience participation would help.

Sorry about the delay responding to your message - I've only just spotted your post (I do check each day but it gets a bit disheartening when an email to 70+ registered members brings less than a handful of responses).

Ok, finished whining now.
Have no fear, I'll stick with it (for the time being).

I'll leave the reunions to others.

:D Tony,
Whatever you do please do not give up. As somebody who runs a website that people like to view but won't get up and contribute to I know how you feel.
Console yourself in the knowledge that you are providing a brilliant service and if it wasn't for you the history and memories of Chorlton Grammar School would be just that... memories to each individual only. You have created a place where memories can be shared and enjoyed.
Keep going and thanks for your efforts.

David,

Many thanks for your words of encouragement.
It helps to know it doesn't just happen to me.

I'd be interested in checking out your website if you want to send me the link.

P.s. Just got a similar server error when I posted this. I'll have a look into that (been on a new version of PHPBB for a couple of weeks - thought it all went too smoothly!). Thanks for pointing that out too.

Is it worth some more effort?

Postby ablagbrough » Mon Oct 04, 2004 11:10 pm

Hello Tony,
as the last person to register I am bound to say, please carry on with a great site. Although found more by accident than by design I really apreciate what I've found so far,old faces recognised, memories stirred, hopes of contacting old friends. One at least sadly passed on. Will be in touch in the not too distant future.
Best wishes Trevor Blagbrough.

Many thanks for your comments Trevor.

I look forward to hearing from you.

BTW. I deleted your duplicate post (you probably got a "SERVER ERROR" message (an intermittent fault) & resubmitted it). Hopefully, there will eventually be a fix for this. (Duplicate posts are much better than no posts
